With the new assessment, members have the choice of zero points foods but not all previous foods such as with the Blue or Purple plan will be zero points. Yes, you can sync your fitness tracker to automatically track activity points. No, you cannot turn off tracking activity points as you could with previous plans. I had a great first day on the new plan!!! I was only given19 daily points on my personal plan, but was able to earn 6 more points so I am ahead of my 23 points on the old blue plan. Can you tell us if we can obtain the new materials at a meeting? I am totally non tech and would want a hard copy of the material in hand. Thanks for your reply! Example mowing lawn ,cleaning house, raking leaves. I do track steps on my Fitbit. I am beyond annoyed that WW is changing its program yet again, especially just before the holiday season!
WW did the same when it changed from the Points Plus program several years ago, and members had to deal with various issues with the app well into the new year. I have been on the Green plan since mid-June and have been happy with it. Truly, I am disgusted with this company. I have struggled with the last couple of changes that they have implemented and am glad that they seem to be going back to the way it was a few years ago.
I know a lot of my meeting members feel the same way…. Dawn, is it possible that you have learned how to succeed and continue to follow what has been working for you? Maybe give the new plan a chance? It may just fit right in with what you have already learned.
Give it a month. Then decide. Good luck. Can you still scan the bar codes on the food packages? I eat oatmeal and sugar free oranges everyday! Will eating that make more points? I am also a sweet eater! I eat about 10 fliz dark chocolate pretzels and it was only 5 points! Will that change! Importantly, the point system will provide the same benefit to its members by allowing them to easily choose and portion the food they eat each day.
For new members particularly this is a good thing, but for current members who have become accustomed to the guidelines that the old point system established, there may be a bit of an adjustment.
They will be penalized more for many of the foods they enjoyed more freely before as the new system goes about teaching nutrition, not just calories.
There has been some resistance and negative feedback from old members in regard to this adjustment and the difficulty in estimating the amount of points with a new system when eating out or shopping. Some have expressed appreciation over the nutritional guidance of the points plus. It is early days yet but we are hearing some great success stories from the Weight Watchers Points Plus Program already with people reporting excellent weight loss over several to twelve weeks.
More time will tell however whether this program will be as successful as it has been so far.
