Windows start menu all programs missing
Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. I too have this problem in build , with all available patches. Search index is freshly built and up-to-date. The problem remains: "All Apps" does not show all my apps, and searching for the missing apps doesn't find them either. It is the Start Menu. I am working to get some folks on the product team engaged with this issue. It being the weekend doesn't help of course but I'll come back with more news as soon as I have it. The issue seems to affect people with more than apps in their "All apps" list. To tell whether you're one of them:. If you see a number larger than or equal to you are affected by this issue. We are working on a fix to this issue. Details required : characters remaining Cancel Submit 57 people found this reply helpful.
I have the same problem, I had a little over apps listed and after a secure reboot all my start menu links were gone and they're missing now from all apps, too. There is no way to get Windows to recognize them again.
Very annoying bug. I brought down the number under by deinstalling some stuff, but it still doesn't work. Hope this gets fixed real soon or I'll have to look at third party software for the start menu I've been using Start10 to work around this issue. A day trial is available. I'll probably keep it anyway. There are options to easily open either Start menu when Start10 is active. Sad to hear. I could try another Start menu, but that doesn't fix the issue that Windows search doesn't find the apps, either.
And that is my preferred method of startings apps since Win 8. Any ideas? Working all programs on an AMD duo core, non working on an Intel duo core. Both machine are home made with pleanty of memory and good video cards. Everything else is work great on the machine with no list of all programs. Thursday, May 7, PM. I had the same problem and here is how I solved it. You will notice that the "Hidden" check box is selected.
I am not sure why this happened or how, but once I unchecked it, all of my Menu items under All Programs showed up again. Very strange Saturday, September 12, PM. Fillyflash, I installed the win 7 and had the identical problem you mention. However, I wasn't satisfied with what I saw, stripped win 7 off, reinstalled and the programs are there. Another quirk I had, in the first install Win 7 did not pick up my sound.
After the reinstall it picked up the sound ok. Win 7 is still lousy and I hate searching for where they have moved a task. One time it shows up next time it's been moved and I spend minutes trying to find where they have parked it this time. That continual changing of menu is the pits. If I wanted to group my tasks in the past all I had to do was drag and drop, now I have to seek and search just to find where they are.
Hope I don't have to upgrade this this thing, I have come to like Vista better each time I test win 7. Friday, May 8, AM. There have been a few reports of upgrades doing just that - Everything works - just the start menu is blank. And as such, it's bound to have a few bugs under the hood The same question goes out to you as well - did you do a clean install or did you upgrade something else the first time around?
